Hyena pup

I shot this picture of a young hyena pup during a trip to Botswana. This particular photograph was taken in Savute, just before sunset. After an unevenful afternoon, our guide had a special sighting for us in mind, as he knew the location for a hyena den. Hyena's like to come out just before sunset, and the pups are curious and playful. This particular one was a bit shy and tried to hide behind his mother's back, allowing me to take a close-up photo.
